I’ve kept this secret from you all for far too long. So let me say – just because it’s Christmas – and at Christmas you tell the truth… (name that movie!)
I’m so happy to announce that our little family will be welcoming another baby girl in April!
When I was pregnant with Zoey, I had a heck of a time keeping up with the blog because I hated – HATED – food. Chicken, garlic, anything with any flavor… you get the picture. It was one of the saddest times of my life. In fact, if you look at my recipe archives, you’ll notice a trend of mostly bland, garlic-free recipes from around last April-January. I’m so happy that this pregnancy has been a bit easier, so I’m still able to bring you delicious recipes of all kinds.
It has, however, been a bit of a challenge to work from home AND be pregnant AND be taking care of another wee one, which is why I’ve been skipping doing new posts here and there.
So what can you expect for the blog for the foreseeable future? For one thing, I’m going to try my hardest to post at least once- hopefully twice- a week for the next few months. Once the baby gets here, I’ll be giving myself “maternity leave” (perk of owning your own business!) and scheduling a few backup recipes to go out around then. You can be sure I’ll be posting updates and photos on instagram and facebook, so make sure you’re following along!
In true Bowl of Delicious fashion, we of course celebrated the news with food. Specifically, cookies:
When we found out Zoey was a girl, I made a gender reveal cake and did a whole “thing” with our family. It was an absolutely delicious white cake with almond flavored frosting, filled with hidden pink candies. It was also a LOT of work.
So this time we did things a bit simpler by making some of my favorite cookies (Spritz cookies- I used this recipe) dusted with pink sugar and made with a cookie press. These cookies always come out super tasty especially when they’re in such beautiful, fun shapes! I’m planning on making more tomorrow with Christmas colors to give to neighbors and friends.
So there you have it! Our family of three will soon be a family of four. Wish us luck, and stay tuned for updates! :-)
